This Victoria family had shade under their deck but nowhere comfortable to use it.
We built a gray paver patio under the deck with a river rock border, turning wasted space into a covered spot for chairs and storage that looks out over the yard.
This open backyard looked straight into the neighbors' yards. We built a long, curving planting bed along the back of the lot and filled it with a mix of evergreens, shrubs and small trees layered by height.
Fresh mulch and river rock accents finish the bed, and as the plants fill in, the family gets a living privacy screen that looks good in every season.
